Purpose of the Role
Armscor is looking for an exprienced HR Specialist who will be responsible for managing the Employee Performance Management and Succession Planning Processes which include the following activities: establishing and supporting systematic and structured mechanisms for performance management and design, develop, implement, manage and continuously improve the succession planning process; as well as identifying career planning opportunities and ensuring sustainable availability of top talent.
Duties & Responsibilities
CRITICAL PERFORMANCE AREA
The incumbent will be responsible to perform the following functions but not limited to;
Succession Planning
- To design, develop, implement, manage and continuously improve the succession planning process; as well as identifying career planning opportunities and ensuring sustainable availability of top talent.
- Identifying high potential individuals and putting together a development framework for grooming the identified individuals and addressing succession planning needs.
- Keep updated on latest performance management, succession planning, and career management best practices and implement.
- Provide support and guidance to Human Resources Business Partners on Succession planning.
- Facilitate performance reviews and succession planning, thus identifying career planning opportunities and ensuring sustainable availability of top talent.
Performance management
- Establish and support systematic and structured mechanisms for performance management including the implementation of business processes and tools to capture reports and analyse performance matrices and key indicators that allow excellence performance.
- Conduct annual audits on Performance Contracts to ensure adherence to all elements of the Performance Management practice. Recommend and assist to address weaknesses.
- Embed a performance management culture within the business area as a means of driving business improvement by ensuring clear objectives, feedback through behavior aligned with Armscor values.
Talent Development
- Develop career development planning guidelines and provide advice to line and employees.
- In collaboration with relevant parties to design, implement and manage talent development programs targeting top talent to accelerate their development.
- Facilitate process to build high performance teams, coach managers on change management issues, and facilitate talent reviews and succession planning discussions.
- Participate in designing programs that would ensure retention of key talents in Armscor.
- Research, design and deliver appropriate organisation-wide performance training.
KNOWLEDGE & FUNCTIONAL SKILLS
- Good knowledge of the applicable talent development techniques/ tools and methodologies
- Demonstrated advanced analytical and reporting capability
- Experience with establishing, monitoring and analyzing Key Performance Indicators/departmental metrics
- Knowledgeable on latest trends and best practices on Succession Planning and Performance Management
Desired Experience & Qualification
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential:
- Grade 12
- B Com HRM / Industrial Psychology or similar
- Postgraduate qualification in HRM will be an advantage
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in broad generalist experience with HR function operating at an advisory level
- and at least 3 years’ Corporate HR experience, with speciality in Performance Management, Succession Planning and Talent management
