On behalf of the Benaki Museum, we are seeking a Digital Marketing & Communications Executive to reinforce the Communications Department. This important role will contribute to amplify the organisation’s online presence by collaborating on the promotion of exhibitions, events, and programs through engaging online channels, to widen our audience and strengthen our community.
Working closely with the Head of Communication as well as the communications and curatorial teams, you will craft compelling content that supports the Museum’s mission and vision while enhancing its online presence. Your work will drive awareness, engagement, ticket sales, and fundraising efforts.
The ideal candidate is a digitally fluent communicator deeply passionate about arts and culture, eager to contribute fresh ideas and digital expertise in a collaborative team environment. You’ll bring experience in digital content creation and campaign management across email, social media, and other digital platforms, as well monitoring analytics to evaluate their performance, confidently engaging and growing our audience. Responsibilities:
- Collaborating on the creation of the organisation's social media calendar in alignment with the organisation's current needs and priorities, and handling its maintenance.
- Co-creating and implementing digital marketing campaigns tailored to support exhibition launches, public programs, and special initiatives, maximising audience reach and engagement.
- Serving as a point of contact for external communications partners, such as content creators.
- Support the arrangement and preparation of museum staff and spaces for interviews, photo shoots, and filming.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure consistency of voice and message across all digital channels while adhering to the Benaki brand and values.
- Attend exhibitions, openings, events, experiences and public programmes, ensuring their visibility to audiences through timely, relevant and engaging on-site content in a variety of formats.
- Monitor relevant digital trends, gather insights on competitor activity, and proactively suggest new tools, channels, or approaches to ensure the Museum stays ahead in the digital space.
- Align with the Head of Communication in running the museum's Museum's digital platforms (website, social media, email newsletters) by planning, scheduling, analysing, evaluating and optimising content for maximum engagement.
- Monitor basic analytics and reporting: track campaign performance metrics, website traffic, and social engagement to assess impact and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Respond to all online audience inquiries and foster the growth of an engaged digital community, ensuring a positive, accessible, and inclusive online experience.
- Coordinate with the Head of Communications to ensure that digital content strategies align with overall institutional objectives and the evolving needs of a transforming organisation.
- University degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Social Media, or a closely related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Greek and English, with the ability to tailor engaging messages for diverse digital audiences.
- Proven experience in digital marketing activities, ideally acquired within the cultural, museum, or nonprofit sectors.
- Advanced proficiency in social media management, content creation in a variety of formats, email marketing, SEO/SEM, and digital advertising
- Advanced proficiency in digital monitoring and analytics tools (such as Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, Brand24, and other similar platforms).
- Exceptional knowledge of image and video editing software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro) or equivalent programs.
- Demonstrated project management ability: ability to effectively prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and coordinate activities across multiple teams.
- Digital storytelling skills: combine and repurpose content from varied sources (text, images, video, archival material) to produce cohesive and accessible communications suited to online platforms.
- Analytical mindset and attention to detail: interpret digital performance data, identify trends, and ensure accuracy and brand consistency in all content.
- Adaptability and curiosity: willingness to learn new digital tools and platforms, staying up-to-date on emerging trends in digital marketing and museum communication.
- Creative problem-solving ability: contributing creative ideas for the development of inventive strategies for audience engagement, addressing and overcoming challenges in a fast-changing digital environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills: build relationships with colleagues, partners, and online audiences, collaborating to support shared objectives and foster a positive team culture.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, showing initiative and ownership of projects while contributing positively to group efforts.
- Ability to work under pressure, adjust to last-minute changes and cope with tight deadlines.

- Prior experience in a museum or cultural organisation, or in the non-profit sector, is a plus.
- Prior experience in an agency environment, ideally in content creation & curation as well as digital community management, is a plus.
- Knowledge of photo and video shooting is a plus.
