We are seeking an experienced Senior Sales Consultant – Animal Feed to join our team in Umhlanga, Durban. This senior role is focused on driving strategic sales growth in the animal feed sector with a strong emphasis on international export markets. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in senior-level sales and account management, combined with in-depth knowledge of South African supply chains, logistics, and regulatory frameworks. The successful applicant will manage global customer relationships, oversee complex export processes, and deliver profitable, compliant trade operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the development and management of international customer accounts in the animal feed sector.
- Identify and secure new export market opportunities across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.
- Negotiate high-value contracts, pricing structures, Incoterms, and trade conditions with international clients.
- Oversee collaboration with local production, logistics, and export teams to ensure seamless fulfilment of overseas orders.
- Conduct advanced market research to monitor global industry trends, competitor strategies, and regulatory changes.
- Ensure strict compliance with international trade regulations and export documentation standards.
- Represent the business at global trade shows and international exhibitions to expand market reach and secure large-scale deals.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, and performance reports for senior management.
- Apply deep expertise in South African supply chain operations and regulatory compliance to optimize business outcomes.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years of B2B sales experience in the animal feed industry, with at least 5 years in international/export sales.
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding strategic sales and revenue targets.
- Strong technical knowledge of feed formulations, product positioning, and animal nutrition trends.
- Extensive understanding of international trade practices including shipping, customs, Incoterms, and documentation.
- Must be South African based, with strong knowledge of local supply chains and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent strategic negotiation, cross-cultural communication, and client leadership skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally as required.
- Proficiency in MS Office, CRM systems, and export documentation processes.
- Valid passport and driver’s license.
