The role involves advising clients on trade finance products, structuring deals, and ensuring risk management while driving revenue growth.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management:
- Develop and manage relationships with corporate and institutional clients requiring trade finance solutions.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their business needs and trade finance requirements.
- Provide excellent client service, ensuring satisfaction and retention.
Trade Finance Solutions & Advisory:
- Structure and recommend trade finance products such as letters of credit, guarantees, supply chain finance, export/import financing, and documentary collections.
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell trade finance solutions within the bank’s existing client base.
- Stay updated on trade finance market trends, regulatory changes, and new product developments.
Revenue Growth & Business Development:
- Develop and execute a strategic plan to acquire new trade finance clients and grow the portfolio.
- Work closely with product teams and treasury to structure competitive financing solutions.
- Meet and exceed revenue, profitability, and portfolio growth targets.
Risk & Compliance Management:
- Conduct due diligence, credit analysis, and risk assessments for trade finance transactions.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, AML/KYC regulations, and trade finance laws.
- Monitor transaction risks and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with internal teams, including credit, risk, and operations, to facilitate trade transactions.
- Represent the bank at industry forums, networking events, and client meetings.
- Collaborate with global trade finance teams to enhance service delivery.
Key Requirements:
Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree or professional qualification (CITF, CDCS, CFA, or equivalent) is advantageous.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in trade finance, corporate banking, or relationship management.
- Proven track record of managing trade finance transactions and corporate client portfolios.
- Strong understanding of trade finance products, credit risk, and regulatory frameworks.
