Launched 20 years ago, Howrse is an online horse-breeding and management game that continues to bring together a loyal and passionate community. To celebrate this anniversary, we decided to invest in a major brand refresh, starting with a complete overhaul of the FTUE (First Time User Experience) and the UX of key game pages, aiming to modernize the experience while staying true to the project’s DNA. Improving the mobile app is also a key part of our roadmap.
Driven by a human-sized team within Ubisoft Paris, Equideow is entering a new stage in its evolution and is looking for a Gameplay Programmer to help achieve its new ambitions.
Your main responsibilities will be to:
- Analyze functional specifications and understand needs: collaborate with Producing, Design, Art, and Customer Relation teams to develop new features.
- Develop and review features: ensure development, quality follow-up, and delivery of planned features.
- Support and debug: guarantee the quality of developments from testing to live, in collaboration with the development team and Customer Support.
Qualifications
Relevant experience:
- First experience in web development.
- Worked in a collaborative environment with multidisciplinary teams (design, art, production).
- Experience in an agile and/or product-oriented context.
Skills and knowledge:
- Proficiency in PHP and MySQL.
- Solid understanding of web frameworks (e.g., Symfony, Zend).
- Good knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript.
- Database modeling and optimization.
- Knowledge of MVC concepts (a plus).
- Familiarity with Git and versioning tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills: communication, collaboration, teamwork.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Recruitment process:
