Introduction
One of South Africa’s largest restricted Medical Schemes for local government employees is seeking a suitably qualified fit-and-proper Principal Officer (PO)/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the scheme.
Accountable for the following:
- Serve as advisor to the Board of Trustees and related committees
- Lead Policy Development and implementation\
- Drive Business and Product Development initiatives
- Oversee Financial Management and Asset Management
- Manage Key Stakeholder relationships
- Ensure sound Corporate Governance and Risk Management
- Provide effective leadership and Staff Management
Desired Experience & Qualification
Degree in Finance/ Post-Grad in Business Administration/ Legal or equivalent.
- A post-graduate qualification, preferably in Accounting or Business Management/Administration, or Legal. (NQF Level 8 or above).
- A 2nd post graduate qualification would be advantageous, preference to MBA/MBL/EMBA.
- At least 10 to 15 years Senior to Executive management experience in the medical scheme /healthcare industry/Clinical Industry. 5 Years solid Healthcare Executive management experience would be considered provided your track record speaks for itself.
- Previous experience as a Principal Officer or Healthcare COO/CEO position would be an advantage (Minimum 5 years).
- Healthcare experience is non-negotiable (min 5 years in a senior management role).
- In depth knowledge of South African health systems and potential threats.
- Sound business acumen and track record.
- Good knowledge and understanding of legislation applicable to medical schemes including the Medical Schemes Act (131 of 1998).
- Ability to apply technical and professional knowledge.
- Able to work remotely and to travel as required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Membership with relevant Recognised Professional body (Optional)
- Communication skills and Problem-solving skills.
- Judgment and decision-making ability
- Stakeholder relationship Management skills
Remuneration: Market related within a total cost to company package structure.
Work Location: Hybrid (Remote & Board meetings as and when in person)
