Job Description
Our Data Center team is looking for a Senior Project Controls Engineer, with a Planning and Risk bias.The Senior Project Controls Engineer will operate in a collaborative supporting team environment, ensuring that client objectives are met.
Job Objectives:
- Develop and maintain resource-loaded schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
- Analyse, track and effectively manage critical milestone activities to avoid schedule slip.
- Undertake “what if” / scenario analysis on schedules.
- Prepare and update cash flow projections regularly.
- Provide forecasts for project completion, manhours, and resources to optimize cost forecasting.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, focusing on creating scalable solutions and team development.
- Identify trends and root causes of deviations against the baseline using lead and lag indicators, recommend remedial actions in order to drive best value for the client.
- Lead the evaluation of the project‘s time, cost, and quality targets, applying governance controls as necessary to enable the successful delivery of the project.
- Cooperate with a remote team of cost managers responsible for reaching an agreed, market tested cost baseline and ensuring the client is receiving value for money.
- Guide and influence the general contractor, ensuring they are progressing in line with the schedule and within agreed cash flow parameters.
- Coordinate and lead planning sessions and workshops with clients and vendors to compile the master project/programme schedule, agreeing baselines and a critical path.
- Act as the key point of contact to the client overcoming delivery and commercial issues whilst preparing formal and ad hoc reports focussing on time, cost and quality targets.
- Work closely with the project team to stay informed on status of project changes, incorporating and communicating these to the project team to allow for approvals in the change management process.
- Hold vendors accountable for required schedule updates and reporting to maintain timely and accurate updates of the master schedule ensuring that the schedules adhere to the defined process and quality expectations.
Qualifications
- BSc Degree in the relevant field is preferred
- Fluent in both Spanish and English
- Minimum 5 years’ post graduate experience is required
- Advanced Knowledge and Proficiency with multiple discipline specific software applications such as Primavera (P6) and/or other planning and resourcing software
- Proven experience in project controls coordination in all phases of the project lifecycle including program, risk and reporting
- Demonstrated experience in the ability to determine corrective actions or recommendations based on facts and figures and critically evaluating information and data from various sources
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Professional working knowledge of project management and Planning software and tools
- The ideal candidate will have a track record of working on complex large scale construction projects as well as within one or more of the following : Data Centre, Pharmaceutical, BioTech, Oil & Gas, Industrial, Logistics, Manufacturing, Chemical or similarly complex asset type
