Unit Manager: Theatre – Private Healthcare
Location: Pretoria, Gauteng.
A private hospital group has a new opportunity available for an experienced and Registered Nurse with a Theatre Technique qualification and management experience to take on the role of Unit Manager – Theatre.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Unit Manager (UM) will be responsible for coordinating improved quality nursing care by ensuring compliance to professional and ethical practice aligned with the company strategy in the private healthcare environment.
The incumbent will also be responsible for monitoring and ensuring that nursing care and service delivery is implemented and practiced within a multi-disciplinary quality assurance team. In accordance, the incumbent will be accountable for coordinating capacity building, mentoring and training, financial and stock management including cost effective quality patient care.

Desired Experience & Qualification
Key Requirements to be liable for consideration:
- A completed Nursing Qualification, Diploma in General Nursing/ B Cur Degree or an equivalent NQF 7 qualification, essential.
- A post basic qualification in the area of specialty Theatre Technique and Management Administration, essential.
- Current registration with South African Nursing Council as Registered Nurse (RN).
- Post basic qualification in Management/Nursing Administration.
- A minimum of 3 years’ managerial experience in a private theatre complex, exposure to Ophthalmic Nursing will be a distinct advantage.
- Unit Management experience in the private healthcare sector, is essential.
