Reporting to the Finance Systems Manager responsible for supporting Finance Systems support across the Finance department and operating as part of the wider Financial Systems and Change team.
- Champion control in data, data reconciliation, data modelling, reporting, and dashboards with appropriate segregation of duties while minimizing risk.
- Critical role in supporting Finance as it delivers its modern technology from 2025, including an enhanced SAP Rise (HANA) instance, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), Treasury Management System and shift in business reporting to more advanced analytics tools and capabilities. Thereafter continuing to support change as the department undertakes a transformation to harness and realize process, system, data, governance, and analytics improvements
- Provide support and guidance to finance end users to utilise data and analytics effectively and help to coordinate developing new functionality, often through communication with the Technology team to ensure existing defects are resolved and changes are properly documented and delivered.
- ·Subject Matter Expert providing Allwyn UK with expertise in modernizing legacy SAP BW landscapes and in the conversion to SAP Business Cloud including Datasphere and unified Data models.
Champion the use of conversion accelerators such as data cloud business content, or semantic onboarding based on SAP BW/4HANA, SAP S/4HANA, or SAP HANA and experience of moving away from legacy architecture toward modern data warehousing.
Team/Department Description:
- The Finance department ensures the business is financially sound, has robust accounting and reporting processes, and delivers financial targets including profitability and returns to Good Causes.
- The Finance and Gaming Systems team supports colleagues across the Finance function, ensuring SAP and non-SAP Systems, GEM Suite, BI, SAC (and ancillary) systems for the Finance team are consistently maintained and developed:
Participate in the development and then delivery of the finance systems roadmap. Acts as the interface between the finance function and the IT/technology teams alongside Systems colleague and specifically Finance Data Warehousing and SAC Master Data administration for various systems, including but not necessarily limited to SAP, Concur, Coupa, such as Profit Centre, Cost Centre, and GL maintenance. Managing demand for system and data changes as a support and project control function Driving and project managing enhancement projects across the finance systems to improve controls, efficiency, and effectiveness Role Responsibilities:
- Support finance modules in SAP and interfaces with other SAP modules and business systems (non-SAP systems) as they relate end to end data flows, data management and data governance.
- System administration including reviewing and approving access to SAP SAC finance roles.
- Oversight of segregation of duties in SAP, preparation of SAP GRC and MDG reviews, and mitigation reports as required by the Head of Finance Systems, Regulators and Statutory auditors.
- Identifying opportunities to streamline finance business processes
- Support delivery of the finance backlog and managing prioritization of Finance systems development, notably leading to any planned development of SAC with the FP&A and Commercial Finance teams e.g., predictive forecasting capabilities.
- Liaison between finance users and IT development team, including writing of requirements for any SAP/SAC system conversions, enhancements, or new builds.
- Subject matter expert (SME) in the transferring of legacy BW data based using data migration cockpits to SAP Datasphere (planned) the remodeling of relevant data flows and using simplified modeling to combine various data sources.
- Expert in building new use cases in SAP Datasphere and in the semantic onboarding option of SAP BW/4HANA to take over our existing data models.
- Expert converting legacy sources into the SAP BW bridge or direct to SAP Datasphere and replacing regular query functionality in SAP BW with SAP Datasphere.
- SME in understanding the best functionality of SAP BW and Datasphere and the best features of BW as they recur in Datasphere, for example Currency conversion, time dependencies, hierarchy types. calculations, aggregations, exception calcs and aggregations and the ability to run parallel visualizations in Data Sphere and SAC
- Support for the Finance Systems Manager in the monitoring of SAP workflows, reporting, integrations into upstream and downstream systems, customisations, extensions, and forms (WRICEFS) as appropriate and assisting the wider business with any issues impacting on Finance processes e.g., O2C, R2R, P2P, H2R
- Knowledge holder of SAP BTP as a platform as a service which will become essential to connecting SAP and non-SAP systems in the future to our cloud infrastructure.
- Provide first line testing of newly implemented SAP and related system enhancements.
- Design and deliver training for finance users and preparing training documentation.
- Supporting the monthly financial close process related to data reconciliation (specifically SAP BW, RISE, and SAC) to ensure the queries on data provision are resolved.
- Serve as a technical advisor and escalation point for SAC planning and reporting issues, ensuring timely resolution.
- Build detailed knowledge of all Lottery data sources and how it is appropriate to use them.
- Help create and support data and analysis business cases including detailed return on investment.
- Leverage enterprise data to anticipate needs and future opportunities for new and existing data sources, operational efficiencies, and insights.
- Participation in areas such as data quality, master data management and metadata management
- Participation in the creation of data models, statistics, dashboards, and advanced visualizations in support of the Finance Operating Model and strategic direction
- Research and implement new and innovative strategic assessments in technology, and analysis.

- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified is desirable but qualified by experience or alternative qualification considered as an alternative.
- Strong academics; University and A levels
- ERP applications (SAP HANA, SAC, BW, Datasphere and preferable) with recent experience of system conversions and implementations
- Prior involvement in SAC Dashboarding, User stories and data modelling
- Microsoft Visio or other process mapping tools such as SAP Lean IX or I-Server/Orbus
- Excellent communication skills and confidence to provide constructive challenge where necessary.
- Initiative-taking and self-starting with ability to multi-task and effectively manage own workload,
