Introduction
Manage the entire warehouse and production department as per group standard operating procedures to ensure that the warehouse is packed correctly, optimal output is achieved on each machine type and the required quality is achieved on all orders.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Implementing all standard operating procedures adopted by the company
- Planning and dispatching of completed orders to customers
- Receiving of stock from suppliers and other branches
- Ensure all paperwork is correctly completed when receiving and dispatching stock
- Confirming and verification of full boards dispatched- checking if physical boards dispatched is the same as the picking slip request
- Ensure all paperwork is correctly completed when dispatching stock to customers and other departments
- Implementing all standard operating procedures adopted by the company
- Management of staff requirements including logging of overtime and incentives
- Resolution of customer queries on orders
- Confirming and verification of full boards received- checking if physical boards received is the same as the picking slip request
- Maintain picking slips and file management
- Do stock counts as required (quarterly and at financial year end)
- Ensure staff comply with health and safety regulations and enforce use of PPE.
- Ensure that output targets and requirements are met consistently
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12 Qualification or equivalent
- Mechanical or technical qualifications will be advantageous
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a production and warehouse supervisor/controller role
- Computer Literate in google apps, and MS office (excel, word)
- Ability to motivate staff and create a positive environment
- Experience in the wood working industry
- Management of people - min 15 people in a shift
- Ability to work shifts and different hours as required
- Technical skills on machinery would be advantageous
- Must be able to work under pressure
- Good physical health.
