Job Description
The Head of Credit Insight & Reporting is a pivotal role within our Credit function, combining advanced data science capabilities with strategic leadership. You will transform data into actionable insights that inform credit strategies, drive operational decision-making, and optimise performance across the credit lifecycle.
This role leads the development of high quality credit reporting, analytics, and forecasting, while also overseeing scorecard management, pricing optimization, and the automation of reporting processes. You will mentor a high performing team and collaborate with senior stakeholders to ensure data led decisions align with the company’s strategic objectives
Key Role Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy:
- Develop and execute the credit insight and reporting strategy to support business growth and risk management.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of credit analysts and reporting specialists, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
- Act as a subject matter expert in credit data, reporting standards, analytics, and scorecard development.
- Establish team goals and performance metrics aligned with broader credit and business strategies.
Insight and Analytics:
- Deliver comprehensive, accurate, and timely reporting on key credit metrics, including portfolio performance, aging analysis, and other KPI reports as determined by Credit senior stakeholders.
- Utilize credit scorecards and risk models to provide data-driven insights into customer risk profiles and behaviour patterns.
- Develop predictive models and enhance scorecard methodologies to improve risk assessment and credit decisions.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders to design dashboards and visualisations that support business decision-making.
Scorecard Management:
- Oversee the design, implementation, and ongoing management of credit scorecards, ensuring their effectiveness in evaluating credit risk and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine scorecard metrics and ensure they align with evolving business needs.
- Regularly review and validate scorecard performance, adjusting as necessary to maintain accuracy and reliability.
Process Optimisation and Automation:
- Drive automation of reporting processes using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or other BI platforms.
- Integrate reporting systems with operational data sources to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Lead initiatives to enhance the quality, timeliness, and relevance of reporting outputs.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with Credit, Finance, and IT teams to ensure data integrity and alignment with overall financial reporting.
- Present insights to Credit senior leadership, providing clarity on credit performance and strategic recommendations.
Risk Management and Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and internal compliance standards within credit reporting and analytics.
- Establish robust internal controls to safeguard the integrity and confidentiality of data.
Team Management and Development:
- Build and lead a high-performing team, providing coaching, mentorship, and development opportunities.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, set clear objectives, and create pathways for professional growth.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Continuous Improvement:
- Lead initiatives to enhance the quality, timeliness, and relevance of reporting outputs.
- Stay informed on industry trends, leveraging best practices to keep the organization ahead of the curve.
Qualifications
Essential experience / qualifications required
- Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and managing credit scorecards and risk models.
- Strong expertise in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and advanced Excel skills.
- Proven ability to manage and optimise reporting processes, including experience with automation technologies.
- Excellent problem solving skills with a results-oriented mindset.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of translating complex data into clear, actionable insights.
- Experience in managing multi currency credit portfolios and understanding of global credit risk management practices is advantageous.
- A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, coupled with a strong commitment to compliance and ethical standards.
- Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate teams to achieve high performance.
Desirable experience / qualifications
- Experience in data analytics or data science, reporting, or financial data analysis
