The Trade & Structured Finance Manager will be responsible for developing and managing global banking and trade finance relationships to support the company’s international commodity trading activities. This role requires a seasoned finance professional with a deep understanding of structured trade finance instruments, credit risk, and cross-border transactions. The position offers the opportunity to build and scale a strategic trade finance function within a fast-growing, entrepreneurial trading group.
Key Responsibilities
Banking & Trade Finance Origination
- Identify, develop, and onboard new banking and trade finance relationships globally.
- Negotiate and secure credit lines, structured trade finance facilities, discounting lines, and FX limits to support commodity trading operations.
- Expand and strengthen relationships with existing financial partners.
Structuring & Execution
- Develop and execute trade finance structures including LCs, SBLCs, receivable discounting, back-to-back, and prepayment structures.
- Coordinate with internal trading, risk, treasury, and legal teams to ensure optimal deal structuring and compliance with company policies.
- Liaise with banks, insurers, and trade finance funds to structure tailored financing solutions for key transactions.
Risk & Compliance Management
- Ensure all financing and trade transactions adhere to internal risk policies, KYC/AML regulations, and international compliance standards.
- Collaborate with insurance partners to secure credit and performance risk cover where necessary.
Strategic Development
- Play a key role in developing and scaling the company’s Trade Finance Division in coordination with global offices.
- Build and lead a small, high-performing team as the function expands.
- Monitor global trade finance trends, interest rate movements, and market developments to recommend innovative funding solutions.
- Minimum 10–12 years of relevant experience in Trade Finance, Corporate Banking, or Commodity Finance.
- Proven track record in originating and managing trade finance relationships with global or regional banks, DFIs, and alternative credit providers.
- Strong understanding of structured trade finance instruments, risk mitigation tools, and commodity value chain financing.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to work effectively across jurisdictions and collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, operations, legal, trading).
