A career that will deliver change. Together, we’ll help Britain achieve Net Zero
Are you an engineer with a passion for design and coordination? Do you thrive in complex environments and want to be part of a transformative nuclear project? At EDF UK, we’re offering you the chance to shape the future of energy as a Technical Lead on one of the most ambitious engineering programmes in the country.
Based at Aztec West, you’ll be part of EDF’s dynamic electrical engineering group, working alongside talented engineers and supported by subject matter experts. You’ll be operationally guided by a Group Lead and functionally supported by a Discipline Manager focused on your development.
The Opportunity
EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is tasked with delivering the design for several nuclear island (NI) buildings, systems, and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C nuclear new build project. This involves working through an integrated team, supporting HPC construction and commissioning efforts, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. As a result, a Technical Directorate is being established to oversee the engineering disciplines and technical expertise needed to successfully deliver these projects through EPR-E’s integrated teams.
In this role, you’ll lead the technical delivery of electrical contracts, ensuring engineering excellence and timely execution. You’ll collaborate across disciplines, manage modifications, and support the development of innovative solutions that meet nuclear safety and performance standards.

That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.
What You’ll Be Doing
As the Electrical Technical Engineering Lead, you’ll oversee the technical delivery of contracts, ensuring supplier documentation meets engineering standards and project timelines. You’ll support Contract Engineering Leads by leading technical discussions and resolving queries with clarity and precision.
You’ll engage with stakeholders across the Responsible Designer organisation, ensuring electrical equipment integrates seamlessly with systems, layouts, civil structures, and safety requirements. Your role will be central to maintaining alignment across disciplines and ensuring compliance with nuclear and environmental standards.
You’ll manage modification requests, assess their impact, and develop optimised technical solutions. Using digital tools, you’ll track changes and report progress to your Line Manager and Contract Lead, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the engineering lifecycle.
Who You Are
You hold a degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification, with experience in system engineering and nuclear plant design. You’re confident managing your workload independently, producing high-quality documentation and meeting deadlines.
Your communication skills—both written and verbal—are strong, and you’re comfortable working with colleagues across locations, including international teams. You’re proactive in building positive relationships and continuously seek ways to improve engineering quality and processes.
Ideally, you bring experience from the nuclear industry and have knowledge of EPR electrical distribution design, instrumentation and control systems, and safety classification. Familiarity with RCC-E regulations or standards such as NFC15-100, NF C 13-200, BS7671, or IEC 60909 is a plus.
Applications close for this role on (Tuesday 4th November), with interviews following shortly after.
