Job Description
As our new Capture & Level Artist (f/m/d) in our Brand Marketing team, you will play a key role in shaping how the world of Anno 117: Pax Romana is presented to players worldwide. Reporting to the Brand Director and working directly within the development studio, you will use our proprietary Empire Engine and tools to create, stage, and capture assets that showcase the beauty, gameplay, and depth of our game for marketing purposes.
You will act as a virtual cinematographer, visual storyteller, and occasional video editor, for trailers, screenshots, gameplay captures, social media content, and more. From building vibrant cities and dramatic landscapes, to scripting battles and setting up camera sequences, you bring creative briefs to life. Part of your role is also to think ahead and prepare in-game cities, savegames, and scenes for future marketing beats, ensuring we’re always ready to capture.
Your ability to understand marketing needs, combined with your technical know-how and sharp eye for composition, lighting, and visual storytelling, will ensure every asset not only looks stunning but also matches our marketing narrative and communication beats.
What you will do:
- Build, stage, and capture high-quality in-engine and in-game footage and screenshots for use in trailers, store pages, social media, presentations, press kits, collaborations, and more.
- Translate creative briefs into visually compelling assets, incorporating feedback from our Brand Director, Creative Director, and Product Managers to ensure they match our marketing and product vision.
- Lead by example. You inspired other Level Artists and you push our assets to be best-in-genre.
- Proactively prepare and maintain a library of capture-ready scenes, cities, and savegames, anticipating future marketing and communication needs.
- Capture and edit video content optimized for a variety of platforms and formats (YouTube, social media, presentations, etc.).
- Ensure all assets are platform-ready and optimized for their intended use (e.g., resolution, aspect ratio, format).
Qualifications
What you bring:
- 2+ years of professional experience as a Level Artist, Capture Artist, or similar.
- A strong sense of composition, lighting, and visual storytelling in 3D environments.
- Experience with setting up camera sequences, sequence editing workflows, scene staging, and video capture within modern game engines and development tools.
- Hands-on experience with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, After Effects, or similar).
- An understanding of marketing needs and the ability to create visual assets and narratives that support the marketing vision.
- A collaborative mindset and ability to work closely with marketing, development, as well as internal and external partners.
- Ambitious, self-driven, and eager to learn, with the ability to handle creative feedback constructively.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
What to send our way:
- Your CV, highlighting your education, experience, and skills.
- A cover letter including your earliest starting date, expected salary, and why you would like to join us.
