Introduction
We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Finance Intern to join our team for a 12-month internship.
This role is ideal for someone currently completing their Honours in Accounting and who has completed or is completing SAICA articles — someone who’s ready to apply their knowledge in a real-world business environment while enjoying a balanced year to finish their degree with less stress.
You’ll work closely with the Financial Director and the finance team across the procurement, project accounting, and banking functions within Business Central and our CRM system. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain solid industry exposure in a growing life sciences business.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Cycle
- Create and process Purchase Orders (POs) in Business Central
- Maintain and update PO registers and related documentation
- File supplier and procurement documentation accurately
- Assist with ad hoc procurement and finance administration requests
Projects
- Assist in creating project-related cost POs
- Update CRM with project-related cost and supporting documentation
- Maintain project cost documentation and assist with tracking spend
- Support month-end and project reporting tasks as needed
Banking & Transactions
- Capture and process banking transactions in Business Central
- Record and reconcile company credit card transactions
- Maintain proper supporting documentation for all banking entries
Compliance & General
- Maintain documentation for EEE, B-BBEE, and vendor compliance
- Assist in preparing information for audits and internal reviews
- Support ad hoc finance and administrative projects
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Currently completing or recently completed Honours in Accounting (CTA Level 1 or 2)
- Completed or currently completing SAICA articles
- Strong Excel and Microsoft 365 skills
- Experience with an ERP system (Business Central or similar) beneficial
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proactive, team-oriented, and willing to take initiative
