We have an exciting opportunity for a National Engagement Lead – Ultra Rare Diseases to join Norgine.
The person holding this position will report to the Global Manager of National Engagement Leads and be a member of the Development team.
The role of the of National Engagement Lead – Ultra Rare Diseases is a critical role in Ultra Rare Diseases, bridging cutting-edge science with strategic account leadership. A field based role which builds partnerships with national and local External Experts (EEs) to improve patient outcomes and enhance the availability and utilisation of Norgine products through collaboration, education, and scientific exchange. The role acts as both a scientific resource and a strategic account leader delivering high-level medical education to healthcare professionals (HCPs), whilst driving customised access and advocacy solutions with key institutional accounts.

Insight to Action
Lead ROC Insight to Action process to focus insight gathering activity on specific
gaps/needs identified in consultation with global and local cross-functional
business partners. Act as a strategic business partner, accountable for
communicating actionable insight of strategic value to support sound decision
making and brand strategy development.
Cross-functional Collaboration
This role requires seamless collaboration with global colleagues, the local ROC
leadership team, and colleagues in other countries to ensure consistent and
integrated strategies that enhance patient outcomes.
Personal Capability Building
Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development
planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or
maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve
performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an in-depth understanding of
technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
Compliance & Governance
In all activities comply with local legal, regulatory, and ethical requirements, and
follow Norgine’s code of conduct and standard operating procedures to maintain
compliance and integrity.
Account performance metrics will be tracked and regular audits of field-activity
conducted to verify separation of promotional and non-promotional duties.
Completion of compliance training requirements specific to the execution of this
role is mandatory.
Strategic Planning & Execution
Using meticulous planning to schedule distinctly separate promotional
commercial and non-promotional activities will enable the National Engagement
Lead to:
• Develop an in-depth understanding of the healthcare ecosystem, patient
journey, and treatment pathways to formulate comprehensive account plans.
Foster collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to advance science-
driven initiatives for the introduction and establishment of Norgine’s products,
ensuring the delivery of clear patient value.
• Perform thorough market analyses to identify growth opportunities and
potential challenges for Norgine products.
• Design and implement detailed strategies aligned with overarching business
goals, incorporating targeted customer segmentation and structured action
planning.
• Lead the development and execution of services that facilitate the integration of
Norgine’s products into local healthcare systems, aiming to enhance treatment
outcomes and patient satisfaction.
• Partner with HCPs to refine patient pathways and treatment protocols in
accordance with current clinical guidelines and industry best practices, thereby
encouraging timely and efficient patient access to innovative therapies.
• Collaborate across functions to coordinate market strategies, key account
management, and customer engagement.
• Execute sales and marketing strategies and integrated programs/tactics to
achieve commercial objectives in both the short and long term.
Stakeholder Engagement
Through peer-to-peer two-way scientific exchange, this role will focus on
understanding the current treatment options and patient expectations in the
therapy area to drive enhanced care by providing insightful information to our
healthcare partners.
In distinctly separate promotional (post-licence) and non-promotional
interactions, as required by local rules and regulations, this role will:
• Provide accurate, non-promotional scientific information relating to unlicensed
products and indications following unsolicited requests from HCPs.
• Provide accurate, non-promotional information to patient advocacy groups in
alignment with the global patient engagement plan.
Provide accurate, scientific information relating to licensed products and
indications following solicited or unsolicited requests from HCPs.
Such scientific exchange interactions will also serve:
• To provide information to HCPs regarding recent developments, clinical data,
and treatment approaches in the therapy area.
• To collect insights on clinical practice, unmet needs, and patient outcomes.
• To enhance evidence-based medicine and facilitate collaboration in clinical
research or real-world data projects.
• Answer medical/technical enquiries from HCPs by the retrieval, evaluation, and
presentation of high-quality information using in-house and external sources.
• Identify and track potential research opportunities that are aligned with Norgine
medicine development objectives through facilitating Clinical Research (e.g.,
non-interventional studies, registries, epidemiology projects, preclinical or
translational research).
• Liaise between potential researchers and the company on ISTs (Investigator
Sponsored Trials) submission.
Information and Business Advice
Provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of policies and
procedures, resolving queries and issues and referring very complex or
contentious issues to others.
· Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Level Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, or a related field. Master's degree or PhD is preferred.
· Experience working in Rare Diseases, especially with launching new products, with close knowledge of the workings of both Medical and Commercial field teams is preferred.
· Strong scientific communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
· Proficiency in CRM systems and data analysis tools.
· In-depth knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards with the ability to navigate complex compliance frameworks.
· Experience strategic account management.
· Fluency in English and local language; willingness to travel.
· Willingness to travel as required for the role.
