Join us as an Operations Manager in Zaandam. This role is crucial in leading and overseeing the production departments, ensuring the efficient production of high-quality products while adhering to company policies, regulatory standards, and NORIT’s global standards. This role requires a strategic leader to align plant operations with business objectives, implement long-term plans, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Direct and optimize production processes to achieve reliable and consistent operations while ensuring compliance with ISO, SHEQ, and SOX standards,
- Reduce process variability, enhance process capability, and drive ongoing improvements in Overall Equipment Effectiveness,
- Drive safety culture on site in line with NORIT key values,
- Contribute to the development and execution of the site’s long-range plans and capital budget. Define long-term capital needs and oversee implementation plans to support business objectives,
- Establish and utilize effective measurement tools to monitor and enhance process performance. Leverage data analysis to optimize resources and drive process improvement projects,
- Develop and execute initiatives to minimize fixed and variable costs through innovation and efficiency. Provide timely cost management reports to stakeholders,
- Collaborate with product lines and R&D to support new product development, optimize existing processes, and facilitate the transfer of manufacturing technologies across sites,
- Integrate education plans and foster a culture of manufacturing excellence. Actively practice Performance Based Management to develop employees and align efforts across matrix functions.
- University degree in business-related field and/or chemical/engineering, and technical professional background,
- Minimum of six years’ management experience within the manufacturing (e.g. chemical) industry,
- Proficient in Dutch and good level of English required,
- Strong leadership and coaching abilities with a commitment to employee development,
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills,
- Strong technical expertise in process and product technologies,
- Proven understanding of Process Safety and Environmental Management principles,
- Proactive, customer-focused mindset with a drive for innovation and continuous improvement.
