Job Description
As a Assistant Utilities Consultant, you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of utilities infrastructure projects across real estate, infrastructure, and data centre sectors. Working under the guidance of senior consultants, you will assist with project coordination, design and cost analysis, procurement support, and technical reporting while developing your professional and technical skills in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in interpreting client utility requirements and reviewing scheme drawings.
• Support procurement and coordination of utility provider quotations and designs.
• Review utility proposals to identify risks, constraints, and opportunities for savings.
• Assist with the preparation of feasibility assessments and load calculations.
• Support project reporting, meeting minutes, trackers, and communication records.
• Coordinate utility works and liaise with contractors, clients, and consultants.
• Support tender processes, cost assessments, and contract administration (NEC/JCT).
• Maintain accurate project data and assist with digital cost database updates.
• Attend meetings and contribute to the coordination of multi-utility strategies.
• Identify opportunities to improve internal systems and client delivery.
Skills & Attributes
• Strong organisational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Confident communicator, able to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
• Eagerness to learn and develop within a professional consultancy environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); exposure to GIS or CAD desirable.
• Interest in sustainability, digital innovation, and cost management in the utilities sector.

Qualifications
• Degree or HND in a relevant technical, engineering, or construction discipline (preferred but not essential).

• Willingness to work toward a professional qualification (e.g., RICS, ICE, IET).
