VIE – as part of the reinforcement program of youth employability, Business France created the VIE Contract for young Europeans. To be eligible to the program, one must be between the age of 18 to 28 years old, have a European citizenship and have never worked in the country where they apply to (depending on country rules). CONTEXT
In a context of recently acquired business and created Business Group “Lighting”, the Sales Director Premium OEMs is aiming for a VIE to join his team and support the growth in the Premium OEMs. Main contributions will be in below areas.
1. QUOTATIONS
- Own the quotation process, from proactively doing business development, leading the request for quotation, reviewing internal costings, preparing customer offer, negotiating it, and ensuring a smooth transition of ownership to the program manager after acquisition.
- Lead the creation of technical and commercial proposals in consultation with the entire project team, maintaining cross-departmental customer contacts at all levels.
2. CUSTOMER MANAGEMENT
- Be responsible for price development (design, series life, aftermarket) and negotiate with the customer's purchasing department, including price variations.
- Monitor the profitability of all customer projects (during project lifespan and series life) and be accountable for customer payments of tooling, study, logistics costs, and production parts according to the Start of Production or negotiated terms.
- Support customers by understanding their needs, systems, and requirements.
- Collect and formalize customer satisfaction data and propose action plans.
- Collaborate with Sales Director to define the customer's business strategy concerning part prices, investment prices, studies, and development costs, and customize proposals to meet customer needs (including competitive advantages and an anticipatory understanding of needs).
- Support customer strategy reviews, management reviews, budget, and strategy planning (adhering to and following the management quotation release process)
3. NETWORK/KNOWLEDGE
- Develop and share knowledge and best practices (in marketing, engineering) regarding the competitive landscape, and stay up-to-date with Research and Innovation projects and their outcomes.
- Potentially be a member of the project team with reporting responsibility to the project manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
Technical skills
- Successful completion of a Bachelor's degree (Engineering or Business Administration).
- Technical Understanding is preferred.
- Customer and Service orientation.
- Understanding of contract management, a plus.
- Strategic Mindset, Team Player, strong negotiation skills.
- Fluent with MS Office: Excel, PowerPoint.
Soft skills
- Excellent communication analytical skills and execution orientation.
- Commitment, flexibility, and independent, self-reliant action.
- Systematic and quality-oriented way of working.
- Strong negotiation skills with customers.
- Business acumen with knowledge of finance to enable proposal creation and subsequent negotiations.
