Introduction
We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join a leading insurance project. This is a 12-month contract role with a strong chance of extension. You’ll work in a remote-first environment, with client offices available in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Duties & Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines using Databricks.

Manage secure and efficient data integration with Oracle databases.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality and accessibility.

Support analytics and machine learning initiatives within the insurance sector.

Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance data infrastructure.
Desired Experience & Qualification

3–5 years’ experience as a Data Engineer.

Strong expertise with Azure Databricks.

Proven experience working with Oracle database environments.

Solid skills in SQL and data modeling.

Insurance or financial services experience is an advantage.
Package & Remuneration

R650 per hour
