The Processing Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end management of the cassava processing unit. This includes overseeing all stages from raw cassava intake and processing to quality control, packaging, and logistics. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who can drive operational excellence, ensure safety compliance, and maximize productivity and profitability.

Job Description
- Plan, organize, and direct all daily activities of the cassava processing unit, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to production schedules.
- Oversee the processing of cassava into various products (e.g., garri, cassava flour, starch), ensuring processes are optimized for maximum yield and quality.
- Implement and monitor strict quality control and food safety protocols to ensure all products meet company, national (NAFDAC), and international standards.
- Supervise, train, and mentor processing staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure all processing equipment (peelers, graters, fryers, dryers) is in excellent working condition, minimizing downtime and improving overall efficiency.
- Manage the inventory of raw cassava and finished products, and coordinate logistics to ensure timely distribution.
- Manage the unit's budget, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular reports to the General Manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of proven experience in managing a food processing or manufacturing unit, with a strong preference for experience with cassava or similar crops.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP, and GMP.
- Strong technical skills with an understanding of processing machinery and equipment maintenance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Proactive and results-driven with a focus on continuous improvement.
