Your day as a Project Manager?
Amazing! Your day kicks off among the robots. Together with the project team working on a packaging line for ready meals, you start with a stand-up meeting on the production floor to discuss progress. As the Project Manager, you lead the meeting. You spot key points of attention, set the right priorities, and make sure that, together with the multidisciplinary team (mechanical, software, electrical, procurement), the project will be delivered on time and within budget. Perfect—this project is right on track!
On your way back to your desk, you get a call from a customer in Australia. During the testing phase, a few extra requirements have come up. Could our colleagues possibly stay on-site for three more days? You didn’t see that one coming. It seems almost impossible, but you agree to explore the options and promise to come back tomorrow with possible alternatives.
In the afternoon, you join a meeting where your sales colleagues hand over a brand-new project from an international vegetarian food producer. You’ve already gone through all the specs and agreements in detail and noted down a few questions you’d like clarified. Is it that late already? Before heading home, you stop by your Finance colleagues to answer a question about invoicing for another project. Tomorrow’s another day!
