The Microsoft 365 Specialist role is pivotal in the continued adoption of Microsoft 365 within NEC Software Solutions ensuring that the business best benefits from the extensive capabilities of the platform. The successful candidate will be delivering Microsoft 365 consultancy currently and have a broad knowledge of the whole Microsoft 365 ecosystem. They will have been directly involved in the roll-out of Microsoft 365 to one or more medium sized organisations and provided business and IT consultancy to ensure successful adoption of the platform and application suite.
Communication and collaboration are paramount to this role, the Microsoft 365 Specialist will be working closely with internal stakeholders on a continuous basis, understanding their needs and identifying solutions that take advantage of Microsoft 365, either as new opportunities or redesigning existing solutions.
The successful candidate will be part of the central architecture and design team that comprises existing Technology Specialists focused on Microsoft 365, as well as enterprise, security, technical solution architecture functions.
Responsibilities will include:
- Actively involved as a Subject Matter Expert for Microsoft 365, inspiring confidence and improving user experience for both new and existing business users.
- Maintain and continuously improve the internal Microsoft 365 architecture and operational documentation, driving innovative governance and inspiring best practices across the platform.
- Lead innovative business change through Microsoft 365 adoption, staying deeply involved with internal teams to understand requirements and design inspiring solutions that improve outcomes across the ecosystem.
- Proactively monitor Microsoft 365 capabilities and launch inspiring awareness campaigns to drive adoption of new features, improving productivity and business outcomes.
- Collaborate and stay involved with external suppliers to deliver innovative Microsoft 365 capabilities that inspire confidence and improve adoption across the organization.
- Be actively involved in shaping the corporate technology roadmap, introducing innovative ideas to improve lifecycle management for all Microsoft 365 capabilities.
- Serve as an inspiring subject matter expert, deeply involved in support and operational ownership to improve efficiency across all implemented Microsoft 365 capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with support teams, sharing innovative knowledge and inspiring best practices to improve independence and confidence in Microsoft 365 operations.
- Provide inspiring support and guidance to team members, staying involved in their development and helping improve collective expertise.
Qualifications
Essential
- Deep knowledge of the Microsoft 365 product suite with proven experience of successful implementation and adoption within a medium size enterprise environment.
- Ability to produce high quality documentation and training materials to support the NEC user base in successfully adopting new technologies.
- Comfortable with collaboration, open communication and reaching across a range of functions and teams to deliver successful change and innovation.
- Strong ability to communicate and present complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, verbally and in written form.
- High degree of personal motivation and ability to self-manage.
- Self-learning capacity to ensure awareness of emerging technologies and maintain personal skills.
Desirable
- Experience with AI and automation tools - preferably Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio and GitHub Copilot.
- Experience with Cloud-hosted software solutions – particularly client-facing digital applications for web and mobile with the UK Government context.
- Familiarity with compliance & security standards across the enterprise IT landscape such as ISO 20000, ISO 27001, ISO 42001 and NCSC Cyber Essentials.
- Familiarity with ITIL service management principles & tools, and their use in an enterprise environment.

OTHER INFORMATION
- Candidates must be able to demonstrate a pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK. Documentary evidence will be required.
- All offers are subject to satisfactory vetting, references and occupational health checks.
- Depending on the nature of the role a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check may also be required.
This position requires you to either currently have national security vetting clearance at the Security Check (SC) level or higher, Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) Level 3, or the ability to gain Enhanced Security Clearance in addition to the Baseline Personnel Security Standard.
