Role Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior FSW Engineer to join our SIGINT team based at our office in Valencia, Spain. The SIGINT team is responsible for the embedded software that runs in various flight computers on the payload side of ICEYE’s spacecraft.

ICEYE is building and operating its commercial constellation of small Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites with SAR data available to customers.
Responsibilities
You will help to build a world-class flight computer for spaceborne SAR. The role primarily focuses on developing user space application software, but it also offers opportunities to work on all other aspects of an embedded Linux system. Normal tasks include:
- Using best engineering practices to deliver correct, efficient, and maintainable code
- Troubleshooting systems that aren’t working properly and finding scalable solutions
- Be programmatic and know where to apply your efforts for maximum output
- Keep the big picture in mind while focusing on the details
- Managing software packages and hardware devices, init systems, file systems, IPC, networking, monitoring, etc in Unix-like systems
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in C, Python, and shell scripting
- Proven track record of building commercially successful embedded Linux software
- Experience with Buildroot and Yocto
- Proficiency in Unix-like systems, experience managing software packages and hardware devices
- Experience configuring and managing build systems and implementing CI/CD pipelines
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in Linux kernel space
- Experience with other Unix-derived systems
- Familiarity with Docker or similar tools
- Experience building or contributing to open-source projects
- Proficiency in additional programming languages
- Ability to read and review electronic schematics
- Access to quality code samples on your GitHub or a similar site
