Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our culinary team in Cork, Ireland. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for creating delicious meals, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
- Plan and develop innovative menus that cater to our customers' tastes and dietary requirements
- Prepare and cook meals to the highest standards, ensuring consistency and quality
- Oversee kitchen operations, including staff management and scheduling
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations
- Manage inventory, place orders, and control costs to ensure efficient kitchen operations
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure excellent customer service and timely food delivery
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
- Adapt to changing demands and maintain composure during busy periods
- Contribute to the development of seasonal menus and special promotions
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Chef in a professional kitchen setting
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge of various cuisines and cooking techniques
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities
- Proficiency in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation
- In-depth understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Creativity and innovation in developing new dishes and menus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in inventory management and cost control
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends as required
- NVQ level 1/2 or equivalent culinary qualification (desirable)
- Additional relevant certifications in food safety or kitchen management (advantageous)
