Duties & Responsibilities

Role Overview

The Production Manager will work with the general manager to oversee production

operations across Truecoco’s soya, shea, and trading facilities. This role is critical in ensuring

efficient, safe, and compliant production processes while maintaining the highest standards

of product quality and operational excellence.

The position is based in Tema, Ghana, and will report directly to the General Manager and

Managing Director.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with production scheduling across soya, shea, and trading operations.

• Manage production shifts to ensure efficiency and continuity.

• Coordinate truck movements as required.

• Ensure product quality meets international export requirements.

• Oversee organic compliance processes, including farmer associations and production

documentation.

• Support certification audits (Organic, GMP+, equivalent standards).

• Monitor, maintain, and improve production machinery (expellers, extruders, shea processing

equipment).

• Perform and oversee routine maintenance and technical troubleshooting.

• Ensure electrical and mechanical systems are operating effectively.

• Provide hands-on leadership to production staff.

• Foster a culture of safety, quality, and accountability.

• Regularly update management on production metrics and challenges.

• Identify operational bottlenecks and implement continuous improvements.

• Support cross-departmental coordination (procurement, logistics, quality assurance).

Desired Experience & Qualification

Candidate Profile

Essential Requirements:

• Mechanical Engineer with 5+ years’ experience in agri-processing operations in a senior role.

• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in industrial processing.

• Proven ability to manage production shifts, quality control, and compliance in a developing

country context.

• Hands-on approach with high attention to detail.

• Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills.

• Independent, resilient, and capable of lateral problem-solving.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

• Experience with soya expellers and extruders.

• Familiarity with organic certification systems (EU Organic, NOP) and GMP+ standards.

• Prior work in West African or developing market agribusinesses.
